About Screenshot API

We are building a safer way for software to see the web.

Screenshot API is an independent developer product for turning public webpages into bounded, private image artifacts that applications and AI agents can inspect.

Purpose

One narrow visual tool

Many workflows need to know what a webpage actually displayed: its responsive layout, charts, images, overlays, and visible state. They should not need to operate a browser fleet merely to obtain that evidence.

Product principle

Useful context, not only pixels

A screenshot is paired with its requested URL, final URL, viewport, dimensions, timing, format, and expiry so a person or agent can understand where it came from and how it was made.

Security principle

Every target is untrusted

The design treats customer-selected pages as hostile. Private network blocking, isolated sandboxed browsers, bounded resources, private storage, and short-lived delivery are launch requirements—not optional polish.

Transparent development preview

What is available today?

The public website, documentation preview, OpenAPI design, FAQ, and engineering guides are live. Customer signup, billing, API traffic, production browser rendering, and artifact delivery remain disabled while the security and infrastructure gates are completed.
